The BIOPRODUCTS_EU programme

The BIOPRODUCTS_EU programme is being implemented by the Farmers’ Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producers of Agios Athanasios, Drama (in short, Agios Athanasios ASOP) with the aim of raising awareness and informing consumers and producers about the Organic Products produced in Europe, specialising in organic pomegranate juice. The programme aims to ensure safe products grown in compliance with the European Food Safety Regulations.

BIOPRODUCTS_EU emphasises the environmental sustainability of the cultivation of organic products and organic pomegranate juice, highlighting their beneficial role in climate change and the environment.

Organic production

In recent years, the demand and production of organic products throughout the European Union has been increasing at a growing rate. This is a result of consumers’ preference for safe foods that are produced using methods that respect and protect both people and the environment.

The production of organic products requires adherence to the rules of organic farming. These rules have been designed on the basis of general and specific principles aiming to promote environmental protection, preserve Europe’s biodiversity and build consumer confidence in organic products.
